Auditions planned for Christmas production at Civic Center

Auditions are planned Saturday for the Heather McGaughey Children's Theater production of "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever" over the holiday season.

Auditions will take place from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday at the Farmington Civic Center, 200 W. Arrington St. No appointment is necessary, and roles are available for children ages 8 to 14 and adults. Actors are asked to prepare a short monologue and be prepared to sing a portion of their favorite Christmas song.

Rehearsals for the production begin on Nov. 1 and will be held from 4 to 6 p.m. each Thursday and Friday. Those who are cast in the production will be responsible for a $25 camp fee to participate. The production will run Dec. 14-16.

Deadline approaching for talent show auditions

The deadline for applying to audition for the fifth annual San Juan County's Got Talent show is Monday.

The annual fundraiser for San Juan County Partnership's community programs takes place on Oct. 20, and auditions for the show will be held Oct. 5-6. Contestants also may submit a video audition.

Real Night at the Museum scheduled this weekend

History comes to life Saturday at the Farmington Museum at Gateway Park, 3041 E. Main St., when the annual Real Night at the Museum takes place from 4 to 7 p.m.

The event features live music, tractor rides, and such hands-on activities as apple pressing, butter churning, candle making, log cabin building, leather stamping and biscuit making.

Annual wine festival set this weekend in Blanco

The annual Harvest Wine Festival returns to Wines of the San Juan in Blanco this weekend.

The event features two full days of activities, including live music, dancing, grape-stomping events, wine tastings, local artisans, vendors and food.

A one-day pass is $13, and a two-day pass is $21. Children 17 and younger are admitted free with a paying adult.

The festival runs from noon to 7 p.m. Saturday and noon to 6 p.m. Sunday.
